Simple Animation

              In this unit in Media Basics we were assigned to each to a both Simple and Complex Animation. We used photoshop to create this animation, or mini movie. My idea was to do something related to water slides and rivers because I thought they would be interesting. So my complex one turned out to be a person riding a slide and falling out and hurting himself, so people call an ambulance and he is picked up. For my simple animation I decided to do something related to birds, so I did some birds migrating. I thought that was too simple so I decided to show that the birds faded away, as the night and the stars did as well so that when the birds were gone the daylight and sun appeared. I also added a person filming this on a camera. I did the animation by adding different slides together and also by drawing creating and exploring things on photoshop.

           As we went through class I learned many things about how to do things on photoshop and how to be creative and explore. When I first got to media basics I had no idea how to do anything on photoshop now I know how to navigate it and explore it. I think I did my work pretty nicely and that I followed instructions correctly and that I managed to make a nice little animation to show. I would give myself a 5 out of 7. At first I was having trouble finding out what to do and how to do it. Then  people gave me feedback and gave advice and I started having an idea of how to make it really good so I worked hard and made a pretty nice animation. One goal that I have next quarter is to always try really hard and to always give out everything you got on your work. Also to have my own pictures to bring into class.

Cells upon Cells upon Cells!

                Cells, what a beautiful thing, we saw so many of them in our lab observation about Elodea leaf cells,  cheek cells and as well as onion cells. We dropped iodine on each of the cells. Our first observation was the elodea leaf cell, it ws fascinating, watching it move and looking at its nucleus, and other cell parts. We dropped a drop of Iodine on it and as the iodine spread the nucleus became really clear.

            Next we did the onion part, as we got the onion it was really cool. The onions were really fun to observe, take notes and draw pictures of it.  I think that the onion cell was really interesting but another thing that got me really interested and wanting to learn more about cells and dive deep into this subject was cheek cells.

          Cheek cells were really cool because you had to scrape out cells out of your inner cheek with a tooth pick. I thought it was really cool and interesting to see my own cells under a microscope. The observation was fantastic.

Science Microscope points to ponder

1.Microscopes help scientist observe because they get to direct and get glances and views at tiny things that thrive in nature. Microscopes help scientist examine cells and different species of bacteria.

2.  If something is colorless then it is transparent. Perhaps we could paint it or cover it with see able color. Then you can always see it clearly. 

3. When I saw the letter e in the microscope it was pretty big of curse and I saw all of the dots that created it.

Quarter 2 BSS reflection

Nesse bimestre em BSS, agente fez muitos trabalhos interessantes. Um coisa que eu gostei muito foi o projeto da cidade de Sao Paulo que a gente feiz. A gente construi e desenho a cidade de Sao Paulo para demostra que agente pode e entendi como uma cidade e. Eu gostei muito desse projeto porque foi um projeto que agente feiz muito trabalho em equipe. Outro trabalho que eu gostei foi o trabalho dos gráficos e aquele teste, porque eu ganhai um 7. Eu acho que eu fui muito bem e que eu aprendi muito.

CSI

           This quarter in health we learned about many different things and we had many different quests. The first one was, The Power To Choose. In this quest we learned about how we have the power to choose over what we do and how to choose correct choices. The second quest was about how family members influence our designs and peer pressure. We talked about how other people can change your opinion, but you still have the power to choose. In the 3rd Quest we talked about bullying and what it is and how it affects others as we'll as yourself. The 4th quest was about healthy living and nutrition and what foods are good for you. I think that my enduring understanding for health as a whole has improved.My earning has shifted in many ways, My full enduring understanding for health has changed as well. Now I know many different ways to live a healthy life style, such as eating different foods, always having the correct amount of exercise and also learning how peer influence and family influence can affect you.

             One symbol that really affected my learning and got me very interested for this whole health unit was the symbol of food. Food, as I learned is not only something that we consume because it tastes good but it also does unbelievable things that make you live and be alive. You food to live, every meal of food is very important, especially breakfast, food supply's you with the certain nutrients your body needs to survive and maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle. Food contains different vitamins, each different kinds of food have different vitamins, such as vitamin c and others. this is why you can not only eat one type of food, you hve got to be diverse and eat every thing, and remember veggies and fruit take up about half of our plate!

          For the color that I will choose I think that it will be green. Green is the  color of nature and living, it signifies trees and nature. Without trees we would not be able to live. Green is important to the community and fits in well, imagine if nature was black! Green is a beautiful color that reminds people of plants, healthy food, like lettuce and greens, which take up half of you plate and finally trees. Trees our the thing that makes us all live, so this is why I choose this color, green.

Quest 3

       Bullying is when people continue and do repetitive physical abuse or verbal abuse.  There may be different kinds of bullying, like when your at school it can be physical, like punching and pushing and it can be verbal bullying, when a person puts you down and abuses you with words. We should always tell a teacher or an adult, another strategy is to just ignore them. Many core values can be used, like responsibility and being respectful of other students.

Six Steps to Making a Good Decisions

This the way to make good decisions in life. First we want to identify the problem. For example, you are having stomach pains, you do not know why, you look at the candy wrapper from the candy you just ate 20 min ago, the candy is expired and old. Done, you have identified the problem. Next you have to consider your values and list the options. Ok, should you go to the nurse or should you just ignore it? You could drink water and see if it goes away then, but it might not get better so you decide to go to the nurse. Before going to the nurse you weigh the consequences, if you go to the nurses office you might miss important information in class, or if you do not go, the pain could get worse. You finally decide to act and go to the nurse, she says you have a stomach bug and you should rest, you then evaluate what you did.
