Hail is a very interesting weather condition. It is solid rain falling out of thunderstorms or strong showers. Hail can vary in size, as you can see in the image above those hail block are about the same size of golf balls. Hail is basically a frozen rain drop, if its cold outside the raindrops will form into a solid, called hail. Some hail stones can grow to the size of softballs, even bigger than those in the image above. There is a table called the hail classification table. This measures the sizes of the hail recorded. A hail stone can vary from a pea-sized hail stone ( 5 to 10mm), to hail stones the size of coconuts (over 150mm). The largest hail stone was reported in China, in 1902.
