What is the biggest external conflict that the protagonist is battling at the moment?

The external conflicts that the protagonist is facing is that he's ship was torpedoed and he is now a castaway. He is stuck with an old man on a raft. He is separated from his mom. He feels scared that he is with this big african person and he has to build up courage. He is terrified because he is blind! He depends on Timothy now.

  1. good post, but I believe the question stated for you to name the BIGGEST external conflict, not all.

  2. I agree with you because the protagonist is very hurt about how he is lost and he doesn't know where his mother is.

  3. I agree with you and the explanation was really good with a short rich summary about the book and explaining at the same time.

  4. Alex, I agree with you. All the examples you gave I thought were really good. But, like Tim, I agree that the question does say for you to give the biggest external conflict. Nice post though.
