Landfill vs Incineration

Which is better, landfills or incineration? I have been wondering about this question. Incineration and landfills both have pros and cons. How is incineration good? Well incineration turns the trash to ashes, therefore they burn the trash.Incineration woks by having the trash dumped in a trash bunker, which is a pro, then they burn it, this can be good and bad, good because the trash goes away but at the same time it is also bad because as it burns the trash it creates air pollution. incineration can be done quickly and the trash and waste is disposed of easily. Incineration has some cons too, as I have mentioned before it causes pollution by burning the trash it causes pollution. It also can cause pollution in the building of it, they have to put so much effort and it takes such a long time just to build something that burns trash. It also takes up lots of land.

Meanwhile landfills also have pros and cons, one pro is that when the trash is compacted it creates a sort of gas which can be used to create energy, but at the other hand it also can create pollution which is a con. Another pro is that it does not take a lot of space. Also it can be buried and on top  of the landfill  can be a natural park, which is another pro! There are so cons, it takes a long time to build, and it uses lots of trucks which causes air pollution.
I think that Landfills are better than Incineration because landfills cause less pollution and also take up  no space. En-top of the landfill can be a national park or a park and leisure place!

Tiete photo essay #3 Choice

This Picture was taken in one of our last stops. This was in Salto, the water here is not particularly clean but it's not filthy, like in Sao Paulo. This is the grand waterfall in Salto. The waterfall gets all the water churned up and it hits the other water with such impact that this actually creates a little oxygen. The waterfall is very important because of the oxygen it is producing. However I also saw lots of trash and garbage on the sides of the river, land pollution. This used to be all forest but now the people have created it into not such a forest-like area. There is a bridge crossing to the other side. There are lots of rocks, it reminds me of the river rapids, when we are going on a trip to the water park. The river has a nice ocean, and salt like smell.

Tiete Photo Essay #2 Historical

This picture was taken at our arrival. This was the first stop we made, it was in Santana do Parnaiba. We had just started walking when when saw this monument. This is a historical monument in honor of the Bandeirantes, who setteled here and founded it. The River Tiete is very important for them, they made boats carved out of a single log and sailed across the river. In those ages there where no pollution, no cars speeding by and no waste being dumped. They built this monument as remark, that the bandeirantes had settled there.

Tiete picture essay Environmental #1

This Picture was taken in Barra Bonita. I could not believe this was the same river. I was so surprised that this was the same River Tiete. This picture includes the sides of the river, as you can see they are sloshy plants growing on the waters surface. There used to be a huge forest "hiding" the river, now people have cut it down to start plantations, such as the sugar cane and corn fields. The water here is pretty clean, animal and plant life can thrive in it. There is still pollution though. I saw a bottle in the water (not included in this photo). The river here is a nice sight to see. There are no huge industrial factories by the banks of this part of the river, meanwhile in other places there are a lot of pollution, both air and land.

After the two men ran away from the Seahawk because of Captain Jaggery how do you think Charlotte feels about this trip?

I predict that Charlotte is feeling very awkward and confused, why would 2  grown men run away because they hear a ship's name and  just run away?? It seems absurd. If I was Charlotte I would quickly become suspicious of Captain Jaggery and start 'interrogating' him. I would overflow him with questions.

What things would you have taken on your trunk across the Atlantic, Why?

I would bring a small knife, ( for protection of course), a sweater because it can get a bit chilly out at sea. Maybe a little gift for my family. I would bring a telescope to look out at sea, a book so I could identify the animals I see, and if was now in the modern 'ages' I would definitely bring entertainment, a book, iPad, and other objects.
