CSI

Health, is important for everything, especially in PHE. In PHE many injures occur, such as cramps, stitches and other things. In Health we are going to learn about these things and what to do when these things actually do occur. It is important however, to learn about health in everything not just in PHE, health is essential for our health. In health class we will also learn about how much sleep you need and other important things for your well being.

I would choose the color red because red is one of the most important colors in your body. Red symbolizes blood, strength, blood cells and your own heart. Without all of these things you would not even be able to live! I think that red is a really good color to represent because it symbolizes basically life, if not for blood, your heart, and cells you would die. Many people think red symbolizes blood and war but they represent health care, the red cross, ( a health care organization) and even more!

Whats Essential for our Well Being??? Interesting Reflections!

This quarter in Humanities, we all did an essay about the book that we read, Ties That Bind Ties That Break. I thought that the book was really interesting in many ways. So, the class did a 5 paragraph essay about the book, we included two of the main characters and compared them with each other and to show how they shape Ailins life. We also used new things that we learned in class, such as comma splices, and fused sentences.

Another thing that really helped me when writing pieces of writing is different transitions. On my essay about Big Uncle and Father, link I used lots of different and new transitions. For example I used something like,  Thus, Furthermore, However, In conclusion and so on. Another thing that I learned and improved on is my compare and contrast. I compared and contrasted in the Father/Big Uncle in my essay, I compared and contrasted their character traits, feelings on china, and also how much they shaped Ailins life.

Now I am going to talk about comma splices. Comma splices are sentences that we use to avoid run on sentences, for example, My dog likes to eat dog food, however he enjoys human scraps, under the kitchen table as well. That is an example of a comma splice. You never want to have a run on sentence, so add commas, but be careful, place commas in the correct spaces, or else it will sound weird. An example of a run on sentence is, I have a fish he likes to swim in his little bowl during the day. It looks bad without commas and it is incorrect.

Moving on, I am going to talk about fused sentences. Fused sentences are run on sentences, these sentences are wrong and you should avoid using them. I have already already wrote an example in the previous paragraph. the fused sentence is not good to use and any body will have an easy time to see it because it just looks bad.

Overall I liked my essay and I liked that we all learned and used these new types of sentences. I think that I should have improved on checking for small errors such as, missing comas, non capitalized words and other things like that. However I still think I did pretty and it turned up pretty nicely.
